Wyoming Beef Council Meeting Update
Wyoming Beef Council to meet on August 16 in Douglas-
The Wyoming Beef Council (WBC) will evaluate and discuss the completion of FY2018 financials, marketing plan and programs at a meeting being held in Douglas August 16. Industry representatives will also be present to give updates to attendees.
Beef producers are encouraged to attend the meeting, which begins at 8 a.m. on August 16 and will adjourn by 5:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Douglas. The agenda is available to download as a PDF on the producers' section of www.wybeef.com.
The WBC, a five-member board of beef producers, works on behalf of the cattle growers of Wyoming to increase demand for beef through promotion, education, and research. WBC programs are funded by the $1-per-head beef checkoff collected on all Wyoming cattle when they are sold. Fifty cents of every checkoff dollar collected is sent to the Cattlemen's Beef Board which oversees checkoff programs. The remaining 50 cents is used at the discretion of the members of the WBC for state, national or international programs.
