Wyoming Beef Council to meet on August 17 in Douglas

CHEYENNE, WYO - The Wyoming Beef Council (WBC) will review the fiscal year 2017 program evaluations and elect new officers at a meeting being held in Douglas on Thursday, August 17.

Beef producers are encouraged to attend the meeting, which runs from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. in the Esterbrook Room in the Holiday Inn Express in Douglas.  The agenda is available to download as a PDF on the producers' section of www.wybeef.com.

For lunch, Beef Council members will have the Great American Eclipse Burger. The Wyoming Beef Council has created this quick, easy beef recipe in honor of the historic eclipse, which passes overhead on August 21. (RSVP required for guests by August 15, 2017 to ann.wittmann@wyo.gov)

The WBC, a five-member board of beef producers, works on behalf of the cattle growers of Wyoming to increase demand for beef through promotion, education, and research. WBC programs are funded by the $1-per-head beef checkoff collected on all Wyoming cattle when they are sold. Fifty cents of every checkoff dollar collected is sent to the Cattlemen's Beef Board which oversees checkoff programs. The remaining 50 cents is used at the discretion of the members of the WBC for state, national or international programs.

For more information please contact the WBC at 307-777-7396 or P.O. Box 1243, Cheyenne, WY 82003. For more information on beef checkoff funded activities in Wyoming visit www.wybeef.com.
